Studio Realism — Beauty Retouching

Preserving texture. Respecting light. Enhancing reality. High-end beauty retouching is not about creating flawless plastic skin. It is about preserving the natural characteristics of the skin while eliminating distractions that interfere with the final image. For this study I intentionally avoided frequency separation-based smoothing or artificial texture overlays. My objective was to maintain the individuality of every facial area while improving the overall visual harmony.

Philosophy

Every area of the face behaves differently. The forehead, cheeks, nose, chin and under-eye region naturally exhibit distinct textures, reflectance and micro-contrast.

Instead of forcing a uniform appearance across the entire face, I treat each region independently, preserving its visual identity while improving overall consistency.

The result is a clean, refined image that still looks like real skin.
